What a wonderful night tonight as I was listening to Nat King Cole's songs. Thank to Haruki Murakami. There are always some music pieces listed in each of his fiction. Nat King Cole is one of his favorite one. The name of his fiction "South of the border, West of the sun" is from Nat King Cole's song "South of the border".

不知還有多少人記得納金高的唱片。多謝村上春樹的小說﹐尤喜愛他的“國境之南﹐太陽之西”。“國境之南”取自納金高的一只同名唱片。我懷念聽唱片的時代。溫哥華二手店裡的舊唱片﹐令人想起香港摩洛街的舊店鋪封了塵灰的古董。陳舊的東西往往有段故事﹐有種文化﹐有些風情﹐抹也抹不去﹐就像納金高的唱片。
候孝賢的“海上花”就拍出了 這種味道。其中明清時期傢具﹐飾物為電影渲染了濃重的文化色彩﹐配合李嘉茵﹐劉嘉玲﹐羽田美智子等的演出﹐產生那種古色古香的意境。有人曾就該電影中的道具拍了一輯圖片﹐配上文字出版﹐也算為視覺藝術留下一抹光彩。
